Often the biggest factor in a person’s ability to learn a language is motivation. Without valid reasons for learning Vietnamese you may find that you lack the necessary desire to study. To become skilled at any activity requires that you put in ample time and effort to study and practice. All good language learners commit to spending time each day improving the skills necessary for proficient language acquisition.

Set a target and don’t stop learning and studying until you have reached that goal, then set more language learning goals. Be ambitious but realistic about how much you can learn in any specific amount of time. I am amazed at how often I get requests from people wanting private lessons 3 weeks before they are due to go to an English speaking country for several months in order to work.
